On 6/2/2012 I ran my first 5K (yay me). The day started out fairly early - up at 6:30 am to shower, dressed and peanut butter toast at 6:45am, out the door by 7:00am. My sister-in-law Michelle and I arrived at the race site by 7:30am and geared up (got out iPods ready). We stretched it out and where standing in the race line at 7:55am. The race started promptly at 8:00am. For the first mile, I did really well, didn't feel like I was dying anyway. Soon, Michelle blew by me and I ran/walked the remaining 2 miles. I crossed the finish line at 42:37 (which is roughly 3 minutes better than I thought I would do) placing 429 out of 523. I am very happy with my first race results and can't wait to do the next one! The picture is Michelle and I at the end of the race =).
